Enshrouded 1.0 Skill Tree Reset: New Skills and What to Re-Spend
Enshrouded 1.0 resets your skill tree. Skills were both added and moved around, so Keen Games refunds your points and asks you to re-spend them โ and they have said this should be the last reset. Re-assign your points before you leave your base on launch day, together with the level cap rising to 50 and gear to level 55.
Why the tree resets and what to do
The reset is not a punishment โ it is a consequence of the tree changing shape. New nodes were added (the two summon nodes plus new wand attacks) and existing skills were moved, so old builds cannot map cleanly onto the new tree. Keen Games refunds the points and lets you rebuild.
Practical order of operations on launch day: load in, stay at your base, open the skill tree, and spend the points before you head into a fight. Leaving your base with an empty or half-built tree is the single most common way to have a bad first hour.
The 8 new skills
| Skill | Class | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Advanced Necromancy | Mage | Increases your skeleton summon limit โ the core node for a necromancer build. |
| Totem Mastery | Mage | Increases your totem summon limit โ the core node for a totem build. |
| Blast and Cast | Mage | After a wand critical hit, increases your next staff attack's base damage by 50% within 10 seconds. Rewards switching weapons mid-fight. |
| Aerial Wand Attack | Mage | Enables a mid-air wand attack with area damage. |
| Wand Evasion Attack | Mage | Enables a wider piercing wand projectile paired with a backward hop. |
| Puncture | Archer | Increases ranged piercing damage. |
| Barrage | Archer | Chance to restore bow durability on hits โ a sustain node for long fights. |
| Survival Instinct | Archer | Killing Shroud-infested enemies with a bow or dagger adds time in the Shroud. |
Note the pattern: five of the eight are mage nodes. 1.0 deliberately targets magic, which had the narrowest options in Early Access. The changelog adds a ninth unlock worth knowing about: Airborne Architect, at the centre of the tree, which enables free-flying building.
Other tree changes in the changelog
- Dagger skills moved from the warrior area to the assassin tree, where they fit far better.
- Costs and effects rebalanced across many skills based on community feedback โ several skills are cheaper or stronger.
- Positions changed for Veteran, One-Handed Specialization, Inner Fires and Snap.
- Unlock costs and effectiveness revisited, and keybindings were reset to default for the update โ check your settings before you head out.
- Leech perks rebalanced: percentage-based mana, stamina and health leech are now late-game only and reserved for specific weapons and gear; early-game leech perks use a flat value.
New level and gear caps
| Cap | Before | With 1.0 |
|---|---|---|
| Player level | Lower Early Access cap | 50 |
| Equipment level | Lower Early Access cap | 55 |
The new caps arrive alongside the new Cinder's Cradle biome and new enemy variants across all factions, including heavy and elite versions โ 37 new enemy types and variants in total. In other words, the ceiling goes up because the content got harder, not only because the numbers grew.
How to spend your points
These are directions rather than fixed builds โ with points refunded, the cost of trying a new archetype at 1.0 is zero.
Solo play
Summons carry solo runs because they give you bodies to hold enemies while you reposition. Advanced Necromancy and Totem Mastery increase how many you can keep active, which is more valuable early than stacking damage passives.
Groups and crowds
Blizzard and Ball Lightning are the new area-damage options. If you fight packs rather than single targets, these two plus the rebalance are the fastest upgrade to your clear speed.
Tough single targets
Open with Entangle to hold the target, then land a wand critical and follow with a staff attack to trigger Blast and Cast. It is the skill designed around weapon swapping.
Long fights
Mana Drain plus reduced-mana-cost perks on Eternal spells keeps you casting instead of waiting on regeneration.
